Since June 2020, Instagram has launched a new

feature: the Instagram reel (to be pronounced in English “ril” but we’ll understand you if you pronounce it “réel” in French, I do the same). Not without recalling what made the success of the Tik Tok platform, a reel is a short video (60 seconds maximum) often accompanied by music.

To make reels, it seems essential to show yourself and point to elements in rhythm. But maybe you don’t want to show your face or dance on Instagram? That’s good, me neither.

In this article, I present you a tutorial to make an Instagram reel without showing yourself or dancing to music. You will then benefit from the visibility brought by this Instagram feature without giving up your values or forcing yourself to do things you simply do not want to do.

Why make Instagram reels when you do not want to show yourself?

Personally, I did not do them until recently, because in all the reels I saw, you had to film yourself in front of the camera and dance to music or point to text in rhythm. However, since I started on the internet, I do not show myself and I do not want to do so.

But I have also seen really cool Instagram reels where

these are scrolling images (or animated gifs) and that is when I decided to look into the issue.

I started testing reels because I can see that it is an ultra-effective method to gain more visibility, attract subscribers and increase the audience of my Instagram account and it would be a shame to deprive myself of it.

I am well aware that communication on social networks must respect the rules of the algorithms of each social media. To please the Instagram algorithm and gain followers, you have to use all its features: hashtags (keywords of the social network), emojis, Instagram stories with the use of stickers, publication of beautiful photos, IGTV and reels of course.

However, let’s be clear:

I would never have put my values and principles aside to gain notoriety and have more followers. If I absolutely had to show myself by putting on music and pointing things out, I would never have done it. It’s not me and I don’t enjoy watching these types of reels either, which don’t provide enough value in my opinion (except for the humorous ones that make me laugh a lot).

WhatsApp has a number of ongoing  czech republic whatsapp number data 5 million scams in which hackers spread viruses or malware that were reported to have tricked WhatsApp users into downloading a third-party application called WhatsApp Gold, which was part of a scam that infected users’ phones with malware. A message that promises to allow access to their WhatsApp friends’ conversations, or their contact list, has become the most popular hit against anyone using the application in Brazil. Clicking on the message actually sends a paid text message. More than a million people have made and lost money

Now let’s get to the heart of the matter.

3 things to know before creating an Instagram reel
Before starting to make an Instagram reel, I think it is important to present three essential things to know.

The format of the Insta reel

A reel must be filmed in vertical format, like for an Instagram story. But the reel must also integrate well with the Instagram feed where the images are in square format.

Indeed, many people do not go to Explore or the Reels tab to watch the posts of an influencer or a brand. Reels are often viewed directly from the feed. And it does not look pretty or professional to have half of the text cut off.

When creating your reel, you must therefore remember to put all the information in the middle of your first image so that it is harmonious in your feed.

This is what happened when I published my first

reel. I had not paid attention to this and I had to

urgently redo my cover photo  buy b2b email list so that everything would be readable in my feed.

By the way, if you need help creating a harmonious Instagram feed (it’s always more professional and more enjoyable for your audience), I recommend Islagraph’s free training on this subject.

With Virginie’s training, we learn how to visually test your feed,

which allows you to see at a glance if the reel cover fits well into your Instagram feed

and to test the readability of your reel (in relation to its format).

Instagram Reel: the choice between three durations

An Instagram reel must not exceed 60  changsha mobile phone number list seconds. You can then choose between three durations: 15, 30 and 60 seconds. However, you can definitely make a 23.5 second video if you want. On the other hand, beyond 60 seconds, your video will no longer be considered a reel and will go to IGTV.

Unable to schedule a reel
If you are used to scheduling your Instagram posts in Later, Zoho, Buffer or Hootsuite, I must tell you that reels are not programmable. I recommend that you prepare your reel in draft mode in the application (or leave it on your phone) and think about publishing it when the time comes.
